Key Skills for Kicking: 1) Eyes on the ball. 2) Step towards the ball with the kicking foot. 3) Is contact made with the inside of the foot for passing or shoelaces for shooting on target? 4) Kicking leg should continue towards the target and across the body. 5) Arms are used to maintain balance. Let's Stay Active!

Hello Everyone, I hope everyone is safe and healthy during this difficult time. We as educators are still waiting on directives from the provincial government on how teaching and learning will proceed as this is unprecedented. Thank you for your patience during this time of uncertainty. I would like to share the importance and benefits of being active and getting outside for fresh air. As we move forward, I will share several ideas of how you and your family can stay healthy and active during this time. Today I would like to start with Getting your daily D.O.S.E  D - dopamine (builds motivation, improves memory, increases creativity) O - oxytocin (develops trust, maintains optimism, promotes social skills) S - serotonin (boosts mood, regulates sleep cycle, empowers good decisions) E - endorphins (stress management, helps manage pain) When we are physically active, our body releases chemicals that can have a positive impact on our health. Good Morning St. Clare Friends! The sun is shining bright - it's going to be a fabulous day! Let's get outside and MOVE those bodies! Getting your heart pumping and muscles moving isn't just good for your heart and body, it's also a great way to keep your brain strong and healthy too! Key Skills of Striking: - Eye on the ball. - Hold racket with dominant hand (usually hand you write with). - Ready position with knees slightly bent. - Shift weight from back to front. - Swing the arm forward to make contact with the ball. - Follow through with hand towards target and upward to opposite shoulder.
