Let's Bowl!

Good Morning St. Clare Friends!

Well the sun is shining again and the sky is blue! It's a perfect day to wrap up our underhand roll
with a friendly game of lawn bowling!

Key Skills for Rolling:
1) Eyes on target.
2) Knees are bent.
3) Bring throwing arm back like pendulum.
4) Step forward with opposite foot of rolling arm.
5) Release ball low to the ground so it doesn't bounce.
6) Throwing arm follows through in motion towards target.

Materials:
- various sizes of balls
- make shift bowling pins to knock down (examples: milk jugs, empty cans, pylons, stuffies, toys)

Game:
1) Set up milk jugs (bowling pins) in triangle formation or in a row. Take 5 paces back (or more if you want more of a challenge).

2) Using the "underhand roll" technique to roll a ball to knock down targets. Take three turns before tallying points. Each knock down can be 1 point. Once your turn is complete, set up for pins for your opponent.
