Another great day to get outside and move your body in the sunshine! Today we are wrapping up our skills of dribbling for basketball and soccer!
Today we are going to play two different games of building and knocking over objects while dribbling the basketball or the soccer ball!
Materials:
- soccer ball, basketball or firm utility ball
- objects that can be easily knocked over and stood up (sand pail, pylons, frisbee, plunger, recycled yogurt containers)
Game:
1) Set up materials in designated playing area.
2) Each partner has a ball to dribble.
3) Determine what each partner's job will be for the game. One partner knocks materials over with their hand, while the other partner stands objects back up.
3) On signal, player 1 dribbles around objects knocking them down with their hand.
4) Player 2 dribbles around and stands objects in upright position.
5) Players must be in control of their dribble to knock down or stand up objects
6) After about 30 seconds stop the game and count how many objects are upright to see who won.
7) Switch roles and play again.
