It's Time to Play Catch
Good Morning St. Clare Friends!
Well we are back continuing our fundamental manipulative skills! This week we are going to further develop the skill of catching!
We have learned the underhand throw and now want to master catching to put these skills together to play several different fun partner and team games!
Key Skills for Success:
1) Eyes on the ball.
2) Arms out in front of you ready to receive the ball.
3) Use your arms to help absorb the object and bring it towards your body. "HUG THE BALL"
Materials:
-different sized balls that are easy to catch (tennis ball, balled up pair of socks, utility ball)
Practice:
1) Practice throwing the ball up above your eyebrows and catch it 10 times. Start with a larger ball as it is easier to catch. Challenge yourself to then throw the ball higher and make 10 more successful catches.
