Let's Kick It!
Good Morning St. Clare Friends!
I hope you enjoyed the long weekend and had the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors - possibly a walk, bike ride, hike, yard work, BBQ, or relaxing in a lawn chair! We were blessed with so much sunshine, which is not typical of May long weekend! I think the snow/rain has decided to hold off until later this week!
This week our fundamental manipulative skills have us working on the KICK! Let's cross our fingers the weather cooperates for this skill that requires some space!

This week our fundamental manipulative skills have us working on the KICK! Let's cross our fingers the weather cooperates for this skill that requires some space!
Key Skills for Kicking:
1) Eyes on the ball.
2) Step towards the ball with the kicking foot.
3) Is contact made with the inside of the foot for passing or shoelaces for shooting on target?
4) Kicking leg should continue towards the target and across the body.
5) Arms are used to maintain balance.
Activity:
- Find a soccer ball or medium size utility ball to practice with.
- Using the key skills of kicking, stand about 10 paces away from your target (square on garage door or fence), and kick with the inside of the foot first at your target.
- Once you have successfully hit the target three times, challenge yourself to step further away from the target.
