Key Skills of Striking When Batting:
- Eyes are focussed on the object
- Stand sideways to the target with knees slightly bent shoulder width apart
- Grip bat with two hands and have bat pulled back to shoulder ready to swing
- As you swing follow through to target with straight arms making contact and then continuing swing upward to opposite shoulder
Materials:
- batting stand made of toilet paper rolls and empty roll to craddle ball or large pylon on stool
- small ball to hit off of stand
- bat to swing with that can be pool noodle or taped together empty paper towel rolls
** SAFETY: NEVER SWING A BAT WHEN YOU ARE STANDING NEAR SOMEONE! **
- Once you have materials ready practice striking ball off stand.
- Once you are comfortable start choosing a target of where you want the ball to go.
